Wear3D ERC-Advanced project offers novel optical solutions for head-mounted displays in order to achieve very wide field-of-view and natural 3D. Wear3D solutions overcome the fixed focus limitations of stereoscopic displays, thus does not cause any visual discomfort. Such a display integrated with imagers and sensors is a breakthrough technology for the next generation human computer interface.
This project is focused on the commercialisation of the IPR and the technologies developed within the ERC-Advanced project for Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) markets. The global consumer market for AR and VR is a high growth market and expected to reach US$120 billion after 2020. A spinoff company is established during the course of the project. The company is focused on technology and product developments to address various needs in the AR/VR markets.
