The data storage market becomes vital in order to answer to an increasing amount of digital data, increasing number of personal data hacking accident, inefficiently of the existing technologies and rising demands for better quality of user experience. The project’s main proponent, Varaani Works Oy, aims to significantly contribute to data storage sustainability, reliability, security and efficiency principles for the end-users, households. The overall objective of the HyCloud project is to move the technology from its readiness level 6 to 9, making the data storage system qualified and certified.
Varaani has obtained many positives feedbacks and endorsements from the Finish ICT service provider Anvia; from Arctic15’s coordinators and participants; Red Herring, that has nominated Varaani as European TOP 100 most promising companies in 2013; Tredea, the Tampere Region Economic Development Agency, that has supported Varaani in the company development process. Futhernore, the HyCloud system has received strong interest from broadband service providers in Finland, Germany and the UK.
