The project “CellScreenChip” (Proposal Number 680913) succeeded in designing a prototype for miniaturized and parallelized screening of physiologically active compounds on small cell numbers and to contribute to a paradigm shift in high-throughput screening: realizing highly parallel drug screenings, while saving 99% of reagent consumption in comparison to the state of the art (384-well plate) and opening robotics-free opportunities in biological research, personalized medicine and drug discovery. Several device prototypes have been produced which are currently being evaluated in the context of academic and industrial research by our pilot testers. Three inventions related to the project were submitted. Several evaluation projects of the Droplet Microarray (DMA) technology are ongoing in the field of drug discovery and and identification and development of new pharmaceuticals.
