Objective Orbital space is getting increasingly crowded and a few collision events could jeopardize activities in important orbits andcause significant damage to the infrastructure in space. As a preventive measure to be included in future S/C, TeSeRproposes a universal post mission disposal module to be carried into orbit by any S/C to ensure its proper disposal afterending its service lifetime, be it planned or unscheduled due to S/C failure. This module shall be independent of the S/C.Principal aims of TeSeR are to1. develop a removal module beginning with the exploration of concepts, going for a functional design with the aim tomanufacture and test an on-ground prototype module which demonstrates the main functions2. perform a thorough qualitative and quantitative mission analysis of existing removal concepts3. develop a ground breaking new semi-controlled removal concept based on a passive removal concept which ensures thedeorbit of a large S/C (>1 t) into the Pacific Ocean without a propulsion system but with an accuracy of a fraction of one orbit4. advance and manufacture removal subsystems prototypes, for controlled, semi-controlled and uncontrolled disposal, based on already existing technology with the focus on scalability and standardized implementation to the removal module via a common interface5. analyse the feasibility and potential advantages of multi-purpose concepts of the module and its removal subsystems (e.g.shielding by deployable structures)6. perform a market study and define a business case for TeSeR7. use TeSeR as leverage to propose changes in legal aspects and advanced state of the art licensing standard forspacecraft including the improvement of international debris mitigation guidelines and standards Fields of science natural sciencesearth and related environmental sciencesatmospheric sciencesmeteorologyengineering and technologymechanical engineeringvehicle engineeringaerospace engineeringastronautical engineeringspacecraftengineering and technologymechanical engineeringvehicle engineeringaerospace engineeringsatellite technologyengineering and technologyelectrical engineering, electronic engineering, information engineeringinformation engineeringtelecommunicationsmobile phonesnatural sciencesearth and related environmental sciencesatmospheric sciencesclimatologyclimatic changes Programme(s) H2020-EU.2.1.6. - INDUSTRIAL LEADERSHIP - Leadership in enabling and industrial technologies – Space Main Programme Topic(s) PROTEC-1-2015 - Passive means to reduce the impact of Space Debris Call for proposal H2020-PROTEC-2015 See other projects for this call Funding Scheme RIA - Research and Innovation action Coordinator AIRBUS DEFENCE AND SPACE GMBH Net EU contribution € 856 413,75 Address Willy-messerschmitt-strasse 1 82024 Taufkirchen Germany See on map Region Bayern Oberbayern München, Landkreis Activity type Private for-profit entities (excluding Higher or Secondary Education Establishments) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Website Opens in new window Participation in EU R&I programmes Opens in new window HORIZON collaboration network Opens in new window Other funding € 0,00 Participants (10) Sort alphabetically Sort by Net EU contribution Expand all Collapse all Weber-Steinhaus & Smith Germany Net EU contribution € 21 750,00 Address Wachtstrasse 17-24 baumwollborse 223 28195 Bremen See on map Region Bremen Bremen Bremen, Kreisfreie Stadt Activity type Private for-profit entities (excluding Higher or Secondary Education Establishments) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Participation in EU R&I programmes Opens in new window HORIZON collaboration network Opens in new window Other funding € 0,00 BEAZLEY FURLONGE LIMITED United Kingdom Net EU contribution € 55 000,00 Address Plantation place south, 60 great tower street EC3R 5AD London See on map Region London Inner London — West Camden and City of London Activity type Private for-profit entities (excluding Higher or Secondary Education Establishments) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Participation in EU R&I programmes Opens in new window HORIZON collaboration network Opens in new window Other funding € 0,00 UNIVERSITY OF STRATHCLYDE United Kingdom Net EU contribution € 116 703,25 Address Richmond street 16 G1 1XQ Glasgow See on map Region Scotland West Central Scotland Glasgow City Activity type Higher or Secondary Education Establishments Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Website Opens in new window Participation in EU R&I programmes Opens in new window HORIZON collaboration network Opens in new window Other funding € 0,00 UNIVERSITAET DER BUNDESWEHR MUENCHEN Germany Net EU contribution € 245 681,25 Address Werner heisenberg weg 39 85579 Neubiberg See on map Region Bayern Oberbayern München, Landkreis Activity type Higher or Secondary Education Establishments Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Website Opens in new window Participation in EU R&I programmes Opens in new window HORIZON collaboration network Opens in new window Other funding € 0,00 D-ORBIT SPA Italy Net EU contribution € 417 400,00 Address Viale risorgimento 57 22037 Fino mornasco co See on map SME The organization defined itself as SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) at the time the Grant Agreement was signed.
