Large-scale RINA benchmark on FIRE

Livrables

First year report on dissemination, standardisation and exploitation activities and updated plans

This deliverable will report on the dissemination, exploitation and standardisation activities done by the consortium members during the first year of the ARCFIRE project. The deliverable will also include updates to the dissemination, standardisation and exploitation plans for the second year of the project.

Design of experimental scenarios, selection of metrics and KPIs

This deliverable will describe the experimental scenarios defined for each one of the experiments on WP4: facility(ies) selected, configuration of the facility infrastructure, RINA network design, configuration of the different DIFs. D4.2 will also describe the goals of each experimental task, explaining which are the relevant metrics and key performance indicators of each experiment.

Converged network operational environment analysis report

This report describes the requirements of the converged operator network, discusses how operator networks are design today and identifies limitations of current design approaches.

Converged service provider network design report

This deliverable describes the design of a converted operator network using RINA (number and type of DIFs, connectivity graph of each DIF, policies of each DIF, network manager strategies), and a comparison with current operator network designs.

Initial standardisation and exploitation plan

This document will report about the planned standardisation activities of the ARCFIRE projects, in accordance to ARCFIRE’s standardisation goals: i) submission of ARCFIRE results to PSOC; ii) contribute to make PSOC a more formal and visible organisation; iii) engage with established SDOs for mid/long-term standardisation of RINA specifications contributed by PSOC; iv) make established SDOs more aware of RINA. D5.2 will also explain the details of the planned individual and joint exploitation activities of the ARCFIRE project. Both academic and commercial exploitation activities are in the scope of ARCFIRE.

Execution of experiments, analysis of results and benchmarking against KPIs

The last deliverable of WP4 will report about the execution of the different experimental tasks, the analysis of the data resulting from each experiment, its interpretation and the comparison against the KPIs defined in D4.1.

Second year report on dissemination, standardisation and exploitation activities and updated plans

This deliverable will report on the dissemination, exploitation and standardisation activities done by the project members during the second year of the ARCFIRE project.

Initial dissemination plan and project website

This deliverable is the initial version of the dissemination plan, characterising the different dissemination targets of ARCFIRE and proposing a set of actions to effectively reach each one of the targeted groups. D5.1 also reports about the ARCFIRE website. Among planned web site characteristics: attractive look and feel and easy navigation, the Web 2.0 approach (more a web communication platform than a static web site), rich content (content produced by the project, relevant background documents, useful links, etc.), frequent updates (in particular through news items and blog posts produced by the project). Although all the sections of the website will be available by M3, it will be continuously updated during the project lifetime and kept online for at least one year after the project ends.

Final project report

A Final Project Report is produced at the end of the project to summarise in a public document the major results and achievements of the project, concluding the projects’ technical work. It will be delivered within 60 days after the reporting period M24-M26.

Project Management Handbook

This deliverable contains all the necessary information to support management of the project, with highlights on the procedures covering, the online collaboration for effective co-operation, Project Deliverables: production process, ensuring quality, where to store, how to review, monthly reporting of effort, and progress and the mechanisms for working effectively on the project.

Experimental infrastructures available for experimentation report

This deliverable will report about the FIRE+ facilities selected for carrying out the experimentation activities of the project, their infrastructure, how to get access to it and how to manage experiments.

Updated exploitation plan

Final version of the project exploitation plan, taking into account the project results generated after 18 months and feedback from the External Advisory Board.

Integrated software ready for experiments: RINA stack, Management System and measurement framework

This deliverable contains the integrated RINA software ready for experimentation (RINA stack, management system and measurement framework), with all the adaptations and new features required to carry out the activities of WP4. The modifications and enhancements of the RINA stack will be contributed back to the IRATI codebase.

Final integrated software: RINA stack, Management System and measurement framework

This deliverable contains the final integrated RINA software released by the project, enhanced with the fixes to the bugs reported by WP4 during ARCFIRE’s experimentation activities. The modifications and enhancements of the RINA stack will be contributed back to the IRATI codebase.

Data management plan

D4.1 will provide a management plan for the experimental data generated by this WP: what relevant data has to be captured, how to obtain it and how to store it in a useful format for later access by researchers interested in RINA.

How to experiment with the IRATI RINA implementation on FIRE+

An experimenter’s guide to deploy and experiment with the IRATI RINA implementation on FIRE+; gathering all the project experience, providing real examples from ARCFIRE activities and reporting about the extensions to the FIRE+ experiment provisioning, control and monitoring tools done by ARCFIRE. The guide will be online and take the form of a wiki, so that it can be kept up to date to the latest release of the RINA software suite and/or updates to the experiment provisioning and control tools.
