It will also help to strengthen research and innovation instruments and international cooperation.

Reports on R&I H2020 Champions training (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)Report on the capacity building activities peformed during the project providing information concerning the structure, the rules, the principles and the unwritten rules and best practices, derived from the principles, regarding H2020 and other European cooperation programs, to the selected individuals in each country. It will also gather the main important outputs of the workshops addressed to the general framework to the different Work Programs in LEITs, Societal Challenges, etc., and 2) Work Programs to the topic interpretation, the partner search, the consortium collaboration management, and the proposal writing, submission, evaluation, negotiation and award, including key aspects on: timing, management tools, organizational and consortium management, administrative, legal and financial aspects, communicational aspects regarding proposal writing, interpretation of the different proposal sections, identification of key aspects, advantages and disadvantages, practical guidance on proposal submission, evaluation phase, negotiation phase, contractual aspects, and beginning of the projects.
Joint Action Plan (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)Document employed to a) suport the improvement of research-policy coordination in the project domains in order to allow research to really face societal challenges; and b) explaining how the work plan might be amended to better align with the inventory of cooperation and degree of integration of research and innovative practice. The document will explain how the Joint Action Plan is designed to counter those gaps that hinder economic growth by promoting policies that can reduce poverty and vulnerability by diminishing people's exposure to risks, and enhancing their capacity to manage economic and social risks. The JAP will describe a first set of actions for improving the “dialogue” of scientific and institutional fields among EU Member States, non-associate countries and MPC region participants for achieving the objectives set out in the project. The JAP will also provide recommendations for: (1) policy makers in EU and MPC target countries, (2) researchers in EU and MPC target countries; (3) practitioners in energy, food and agriculture, and water sectors; (4) managers of research enterprises such as University Vice Chancellors and Directors of private sector research organizations. This way, JAP contains and meets project’s mission to strongly encourage public/private partnerships in order 1) to counteract the phenomena related to the use of resources; and 2) to reduce the gap between the involved countries by encouraging an economic and social reform.
Research & Innovation Voucher Call for Proposal (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)Document that will describe the Individual R&I voucher initiative to perform research activity for about 1 month in other institution from a different country. Such document will describe the possibilities for the applicants to concretely perform networking activity in the target area, taking into account its own and real needs related to the identified societal challenges in water/energy/agriculture. Moreover, the instrument will let to increase and enhance networking and capacity building activity into the targeted countries (and not an indirect way to pay consultant activities).

End of Summative Project Impact Evaluation Report (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)Document that will describe the evolution of the process and impact analysis as well as on the process evaluation including the description of the key issues related to the summative and formative characteristics of the process. Such document will let to publish the corresponding evaluation of the project’s impact on research and scientific cooperation in the research foci between EU and MPC, within the target countries and between researchers and policy makers.
Report on virtual and physical information system development and outcomes (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)Dcoument that will gather the outputs of the virtual information system aimed at providing info on H2020 in 2 languages (Arabic and English). The system will also link an gathered together the H2020 innovation champions and all the people involved in the several activities of the project. The virtual and physical information system will allow to involve and collect feedback not only from EU-MPC decision makers, sometimes detached from the reality, but also the users and the final beneficiaries of the project.

Such document will also help on analyzing participation from the point of view of the innovation potential for the participating organization in the collaborative environment of the cooperation projects. This document is also designed to raise awareness, improve knowledge and build capacities on H2020 and other European cooperation programs for: innovation professionals, project managers, scientific and technologic experts and advisers and research and innovation programs’ present and future specialists, from industry, academia, research organizations and governmental agencies and bodies related to research and innovation.
Communication campaign periodic evaluation reports of the outputs of contacts with R&D policy makers and derived impact communicating to general public by mass media. (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)Series of dissemination activities addressed to inform and educate the general public. One of the fundamental aim of the project is to identify remaining obstacles for cooperation and to support the development of solutions to eliminate these, while jointly promoting measures which facilitate international cooperation (e.g. on open access, scientific visa, IPR, peer review, research integrity etc.). The involved dissemination activities are geared towards increasing social awareness of the need for more efficient technologies in the identified social challenges within Energy, Water and Agriculture sectors.
Inventory on S&T cooperation between EU and MPC region (updated each 6 months) (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)Document that will provide a summary of S&T cooperation between EU-MPC based on a Desk-based research to identify the main areas of cooperation between EU and MPC. It will focus on FP6/7 and H2020 research projects. It will also include the outputs of a small number of qualitative interviews with Commission staff in the European External Action Service to ensure gathering all aspects of current and future cooperation. These activities will be used to generate a baseline position (WP03.5) and evaluation of 5TOI_4EWAS’ impact (WP03.6). Outcome of this task will be also used in WP06, T6.1, to identify the ongoing projects where establishing links.

This data will be collected via an electronic survey and a small number of qualitative interviews.

Such document will let to understand not only which impacts the project had but why these impacts emerged. While the Impact Evaluation will be summative, the Process Evaluation will be both summative and formative, enabling the project consortium to develop and modify the project during delivery to maximize impact.

Such document will be aiming at linking, describing and analyzing policies in selected areas and identified societal challenges, to support monitoring policy development and cooperation hence enhancing local research and innovation potential.
Survey undertaken across Universities and private sector research institutes in MPC, focusing on researchers in relation to energy, water and agriculture. Such survey will be employed to define (a) the extent of cooperation between researchers, innovators and policy makers within target countries and (b) specifically, the uptake of research findings in policy making and the development of innovation in selected research foci (energy, water, agriculture). The research will also establish (c) the extent of cooperation between researchers across borders within target countries. The Electronic Survey of Researchers will be integrated into the Digital Portal of Observatories (WP04, T4.3).
Periodic dissemination of newsletter issues to the widest possible audience. (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)Tools and activities for the “translation” of project outcomes from scientific/specialist language to common language for an efficient dissemination to a bigger non-specialised audience in EU and MPC to provide accurate, updated and transparent information on the project progress, outputs and results, as well as on the participation means on the project, to the regional stakeholders, in order to ensure the accountability of the EU and MPC efforts.
Creation of the promotional kit (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)Pack employed as a brand to identify the project, based on the aims, which will create recognizable presence for the consortium to external stakeholders. This pack will be created and maintained by the consortium. It will include: a logo, website, 2 videos, semi-annual e-newsletter, 15.000 brochures (electronic and hard copies), 5 banners flyers, technical notes, 3 posters, presentation slides, 4000 project folders and presence on social media sites and events. Whereas the greatest number of project products will be in digital format and available in the project website, a limited edition of documents will be also produced in hard copy (maximum 100 copies x product). The material within this pack will be designed, branded, tailored to a specific audience and will include consistent key messages. The communication pack will be used in all external communication concerning the project, to ensure a professional and coherent visual identification and immediate recognition of the project related activities, which will increase the 5TOI_4EWAS visibility and its public awareness. The 5TOI_4EWAS leaflet will be created in order to rationalise information about the project containing key objectives, expected impact and results, partnership and useful links. 5TOI_4EWAS e-newsletters will be regularly distributed to help build a community of interested parties.
5TOI_4EWAS Digital Portal of Observatories (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)Digital portal that will include a brief description of observatories’ stories, their aims, and fields of work, their partnerships as well as information on how to treat and monitor indicators in terms of policies, trends and cooperation approach in the selected societal challenges. The digital portal will be the entry point to the directory. The aim is to create an instrument to gather and join already existing web journals and their best practices among different territories, universities and countries (passing through researchers) and not simply to add another instrument.
