Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

We have assed the prospects for commercialisation of metal halide perovskite semiconductors for light emitting applications. We have deemed that there are prospects for perovskites to be useful as both alternative phosphor materials, specifically competing with conventional inorganic quantum dots, and as light emitting diode materials, to compete with organic light emitting diodes for display applications. We have successfully undertake divisional patent applications, to closely cover important aspects for perovskites in light emitting applications, and created a fundable business plan to commercialise this technology. We have created a start-up company, funded by two UK investment firms, which is making further assessments of the market opportunities and technological advancements. These materials and devices have the potential to deliver the next generation display technologies.
