Ensured Randomness Integrity in Device-Independent Networks

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - ERIDIAN (Ensured Randomness Integrity in Device-Independent Networks)

Reporting period: 2016-07-01 to 2017-12-31

ERIDIAN advanced toward commercial viability a quantum random number generation technology developed in the context of the ERC Starting Grant AQUMET and used in several loophole-free Bell tests. Loophole-free Bell tests enable advanced, so-called “device-independent,” communications protocols that do not require the user to trust the equipment provider. ERIDIAN brought this technology closer to market through advances in manufacturability to reduce size, cost, and especially the need for expert personnel in fabrication and testing. The project developed a scalable architecture with integrated self-testing features, launched a startup company, attracted financial investment and is now offering first products.
