Electricity transmission, whose efficiency depends on the structural stability of its infrastructures, is a major EU’s challenge. With close to 300 000 km of power lines, the maintenance of transmission infrastructures is essential for the supply of electricity 24/7. 2 to 4 % of these infrastructures are moving, leading to blackouts who have a decisive impact for European citizens security. Currently, the monitoring is qualitative, expensive, done through staff's field inspections, scarce and not efficient because important damages are often discovered too late, mobilizing enormous resources in terms of time, manpower and money.
Prevention through real-time monitoring is a much better solution, we propose herein to implement a quantitative real-time monitoring system of stability (and other parameters) of infrastructures, as well as their surroundings, based on our small ReCETT sensor, that is adaptable, robust, reliable, accurate and transmits automatically the measured data to end-users.
