Objective The aim of this project is to explore methods for the high temperature and pressure filtration (HTHP) of blast furnace tap gas as a means of creating a usable energy and reduction source. It is necessary to evaluate a range of filtration materials using two different kinds of manufactured tap gas with the object of obtaining clean gas with a low dust content equivalent to wet gas scrubbing. A further advantage of HTHP is to improve environmental protection by avoiding water treatment systems connected to conventional water filtration. In addition, HTHP is an important prerequisite in the new smelting reduction processes.
