Examination of the coke push effect by subsequent ferrous charges under simulated on-blast conditions

Objective

Understanding charging operations means that the control of gas distribution in the blast furnace can be achieved. Tests carried out on a model have allowed charging conditions to be reproduced using a rotating chute, although without taking into consideration the effects of gas flow, or the possibility of fluidised coke bed operations. This multipartner research work is intended to modify the existing model in order to reproduce real aerodynamic conditions, and to carry out a series of coke push tests, which will allow charging models to be improved.
