Objective

The project consists in carrying out direct cooling tests on laboratory machines and then on pilot machines of the twin roller type on stainless steel strip, of the grade AISI 304, with a thickness of less than 5 mm. The development of the solidification model and the heat balance model, the assessment of the quality obtained, the identification of the casting conditions necessary to obtain the desired quality with the minimum of subsequent mechanical treatment and heat treatment will be aimed at from the parameters obtained.
