Objective
Two cameras will records images from the upper part of the ingot mould: copper cold wall, top of the powder layer, zones in which the liquid layer forms, exposed zones, etc. On the basis of an analysis of the phenomena observed, powder will be distributed at the required points by a robotized automatic distribution system that will be designed under the research project. At the same time the information obtained will be used to regulate the bath level by taking into account the actual metal level underlying the covering powder.
