Objective

This collaborative research project is intended to establish a relationship between mould powder performance and longitudinal cracking of wide, continuously cast slabs in order to achieve higher casting rates of wide, crack-free product. It is intended to define conditions for slabs up to 2.4m wide, cast at speeds up to 1.5m/min including peritectic grades.
