Plasticity problems in continuous casting

Objective

The general aim of this research is to improve the continuous casting process for certain steels which are difficult to cast. The complex phenomena in the mould will be studied such as shrinkage, formation of mechanical stress, heat transfer and their interrelationship as well as their influence on product quality. This work will be carried out in close collaboration with the proposal from TU Clausthal (P2380) included in this programme.
