Objective
The aim of the project is to improve the durability of refractory components and, thus the quality of continuously cast products. Basic physical and chemical research will initially be carried out on the reactions between steel and refractory materials as well as casting powder and refractory materials. During the second stage, experimental investigations will focus on the plasma coating. The research will subsequently concentrate on coating adhesion and is planned to conclude with practical operating trials.
