Objective To get a better understanding of the hot rolling of strips less than 2 mm thick, particularly from the aspect of hot tearing at the edge or centre. To study the mechanism of such tears, how they are caused and ways to reduce them with consequent savings in productivity and quality and reduced roll damage.
