Improved width control in hot strip mills for extending con tinuously cast slab width range

Objective

The aim of this joint research project is to develop a method for controlling the strip width between the two last stands of the finishing mill. Lateral adjustment will be made by means of hydraulic actuators. Technical and economic benefits are expected in the improved matching of the mill with the variable strip widths.
