Objective
In the case of certain long products whose cross-section is a fairly complex geometrical shape, natural cooling after rolling can create substantial transverse and longitudinal deformations that can give rise to problems during the subsequent operations of sawing, straightening, etc. The aim of this research is to develop a model for calculating the deformations at each point on a long product subjected to natural or accelerated cooling during and/or after rolling. The model is intended to be used as a digital simulation tool for preparing industrial rolling and cooling schedules.
