Objective
The aim of this project is to exploit mathematical models of heat treatment to predict the temperature and strain fields during deformation in relation to alloy and stainless steels rolled at high speed in multiple passes. Validation of the models will involve a comparison between the distribution of temperature and the microstructural evolution during rolling. The practical consequences of modifications in the mill and rolling variables on the microstructure of the product will be investigated.
