Objective
This research project is intended to develop new optical techniques for on-line monitoring of the surface image clarity of steel strip based on grid projection and image analysis and will lead to prototype design and construction. A series of standardized procedures will be developed and correlated with existing standards for both white and coloured light and coatings. This methodology will then be incorporated into a fast camera/image processor system.
