Objective
This proposal is aimed at applying the results of a current project to the design and construction of a laser analysis system for tests on ladles and other containers in a three- tonne pilot plant. The equipment and the spectrometric techniques are being developed and will be used in conjunction with probes to determine the composition of the liquid metal. The work will cover a range of practical conditions from slag-free metal in the ladles to liquid metal in the course of production with the aim of achieving the required reliability without reducing the accuracy of the analysis.
