Objective

The aim of this research project is to investigate crack initiation and growth and base parameters in the three zones (base material, HAZ, and weld metal) of a series of typical weld samples manufactured using StE 960 steel: untreated butt, treated butt, transverse stiffening as well as base material with rolling skin. Similar samples will also be subjected to fatigue testing.
