SCC behaviour of stainless steels

Objective

This research is complementary to the BSC project (P2075) and is concerned with applied studies on the stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behaviour of stainless and high alloy steels. The overall aim is the establishment of safe limiting operating conditions for the use of standard steels AISI 304 and 306 as well as the evaluation of the performance of higher austenitic and austenitic-ferritic alloys for use in buildings under special conditions of stress corrosion.
