Application of fracture mechanics criteria to ductile materials under load in a hydrogen environment

Objective

The aim of this project is to apply fracture mechanics concepts to hydrogen impregnated ductile materials, to assess different test methods and to specify design requirements for structural steel in hydrogen-rich atmospheres. The ultimate aim is to allow end users to precisely define steel structures operating in the presence of hydrogen.
