Objective

This project is aimed at exploring the techniques of colouring stainless steels by the deposition of interferential chromium oxide films. A patented reactive sputtering process and ion plating processes are to be considered and a full characterisation of the surface films will be performed including colour uniformity, wear and corrosion resistance.
