Objetivo As part of the planned research, investigations will be carried out on the properties of hot- and cold-rolled flat products with a view to the manufacturing, economic and quality advantages of casting to final dimensions. A major requirement for the material investigations is the availability of cast semi-products for further processing on current test plant. Sizes will be produced thereon which can be used direct or with a minimal amount of hot forming as hot-rolled end-products for conventional processes or as blanks for further cold rolling.
