Objective
The objective of the research is to study the hydrogen embrittlement behaviour of different steels with particular attention on the heat-affected zone microstructures. Two approaches will be developed. In the first one, the influence of steel composition and microstructure on the conditions of hydrogen absorption and diffusivity will be analysed. In a second approach, the hydrogen embrittlement behaviour of these microstructures will be characterized through the use of conventional tests in the field of hydrogen embrittlement. This work will be carried out in close collaboration with project P2370 included in this programme.
