Objective
Insufficient detailed information is available with regard to the influence of microstructural parameters on cleavage fracture (for instance, percent of bainite present, volumetric fraction, dimensional distribution of secondary brittle regions, such as autenite-martensite pockets). The object of this research is to determine the influence of these factors in quantitative terms. The information acquired during these studies will then be used to interpret the behaviour exhibited by the materials during a DWTT technical test performed at low temperature.
