Objective
The aim of this research project is to improve laboratory testing conditions for wire for use in vehicle coil spring suspension systems. These experiments will determine precise torsional and rotational strength parameters rather than continuing to rely on extrapolated fatigue strength data and will result in greatly improved vehicle spring design with corresponding improvements in vehicle performance and fuel economy. Experiments to DIN 2089 standards will also be performed.
