Objective
This research project will undertake static load testing of ledeburite tool steels in order to investigate fracture behaviour. Optimisation of tool steel qualities may include powder metallurgy and spray deposition techniques or the development of new materials. This research will provide improved understanding of substrate materials in the course of investigations into large numbers of samples of different materials with differing carbon contents.
