Objective
Technical aspects for the production of low-carbon, non-oriented electrical steels for highly efficient electrical motors will be investigated in this research project. Improved understanding of basic metallurgy necessary to obtain optimal texture of high purity, silicon-based, non-oriented grain structure in semi-finished, rolled magnetic steels will contribute greatly to the design and manufacture of such motors. The "recovery process" will be examined in detail together with the possibility of optimising hot rolling in the alpha and gamma mixed field.
