Objetivo
The aim of the proposed work is to achieve economies by the development of stainless steels containing less than 2% nickel. The investigation will include studies of microstructure, mechanical properties, deep-drawing behaviour, weldability and resistance to corrosion and comparisons will be made with conventional 18/8 grade stainless steels. The work will be carried out in partnership with CSM (Rome). Other organisations associated with the project will be: - University of Coimbra (Portugal) - Welding Institute, Lisbon (Portugal) -Deltacogne, Aoste (Italy) - Terni Special Steels, Terni (Italy).
