Effects of variations in the chemical composition on the weldability of offshore steel, Grade 450

Objective

The aim of the project is to improve current knowledge of TMCP Nb/V 450 MPa steel for offshore applications by establishing a statistical database on the fracture behaviour and weldability properties of heavy plates with different and local variations of microalloying elements, in view of relieving the scepticism of users concerning the safety aspects of such grades of steel. The tests shall include simulation tests, full weldments trials, structural analysis, impact tests and CTOD tests to characterize the HAZ resulting from a range of welding heat inputs.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
