Objective

Nano precipitates influence the mechanical and electrical properties of a steel product. In this project methods will be developed for quantitative bulk analysis of each type of precipitate by chemical analysis an X-ray diffraction. Microanalysis and nano analysis, by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high resolution TEM with energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), will be optimised to distinguish between co-precipitation and mixed precipitation.
