Objective
This project is intended to determine rules for detailing and calculating openings in sandwich panels, whether openings can be made without further considerations and whether additional steel sections are required. Initially, only foam core elements will be examined and a test programme involving various parameters will be carried out in order to allow general detailing rules to be drafted which do not depend directly on the type of core material.
