Objective

This project will demonstrate on a small commercial blast furnace (600 tonnes/day) the possibility of injecting up to 400 kg/tonne of coal in conjunction with a cold blast with 60% or more oxygen content. The advantages, which are sought are a reduction in investment costs (no cowpers required), an increase in productivity, the production of top gas and a decrease in NOx emissions.
