Objective

This project is intended to construct a pilot line for developing electrolytic deposition of packaging sheet with high corrosion resistance and excellent adherence to the base metal, as well as demonstrating the advantages of employing an organic coating directly extruded after electrolytic deposition. This very thin steel sheet, if correctly coated, could compete effectively in the expanding field of pet food containers, which is currently dominated by aluminium, and thus provide a new outlet in the tinplate market.
