Objective
In the framework of the project, it is proposed to set up, on the tundish of a three-strands bloom caster of DELTA COGNE spa in Aosta, a full-scale system for temperature control by means of a plasma torch of 2 MW capacity. The assessment of the parameters concerning heat transmission and fluo-dynamic currents inside the liquid metal will be used to set up a process monitoring model. This project has been fully accepted but, for budgetary reasons, the financial support will be delivered in two parts; the second part can be found in the reserve list in annex II. For industrial programmation reasons the contract will start on the 1st April 1990.
