The extended use of the He tracing technique and the assessment of the blast furnace shaft permeability

Objective

The assessment of the gas distribution and the monitoring of the burden permeability in blast furnace are still gaining a growing importance. Investigations made by several iron-makers and research centres have shown that blast furnace gas tracing by helium is a new promising technique for gas flow and burden permeability monitoring. The present project aims at converting this technique into a new reliable industrial tool for the blast furnace operator.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
