Mine climate control options in underground working zones

Objective

The purpose of the proposed research is to undertake an analysis of the methods currently employed to exert control over the underground thermal environment in order to quantify the benefits provided by each method in terms of the improvement made to the thermal environment, the cost and the range of application.

- review of the current climate control techniques

- set up a data base of information

- analysis of the effectiveness of the control options

- analysis of the methods of climate control to determine the bounds of application

- classification of the methods with respect to the method employed, the bounds of application, the rock temperature and the costs

- proposition of the optimum methodologies

- definition of the possible changes of control strategies

- identification of research areas to improve mine climate.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
