Objective
The aim of the research is the optimisation of methane drainage around rapidly retreating faces. The risk of heating related to air circulation in old workings are often to be controlled by nitrogen neutralisation. An optimum and economic technique that combines these two methods has to be investigated.
- the use of a primary system of teIe-surveiIIance and automatic regulation of the drainage network
- the practice application of the model representing gas circulation in the goaf. This model will be applied to problems relating to methane drainage and to the neutralisation of old workings
- the improvement of drainage techniques by optimisation of the parameters for drainage systems and development of selective drainage methods
- the integration of the effects of fire damp drainage within the prediction of average emissions at the face.
