Pan-European experimental comparison for exchange of mining safety explosives

Objective

The aim of the project is to facilitate the use throughout the EU of mining safety explosives manufactured in any Member State. To this end, comparative tests will be carried out on the various classes or groups of mining safety explosives available in the Community

Informal contacts between France, Germany and the UK in the 1980s made it possible to compare the test methods for such explosives, and ECSC project No. 7262/O3/293, which brought together the results of these investigations will serve as-a basis for the present project.

There will be no supplementary exchanges between the above three countries, but they will test, in the presence of a Spanish observer, Spanish explosives of classes 11, Ill and IV, while Spain will test samples of the most widely used explosives in the highest safety class from the UK, France and Germany in the presence of an observer from the appropriate country.

DMT will ensure the co-ordination of the work and will prepare the final report on the basis of detailed reports from the countries involved.
