Objective
The aim of this programme is to improve or develop numerical tools taking into account non regular, non symmetric geological and tectonical conditions of the host volume of rock surrounding the mined areas (disturbances, faults, layered model).
The research will include the following stages :
- development of a geometrical, assessment tool
- integration of semi-empirical, stress loading rules to the modelling of the irregularities of the rock mass
-further testing of 3 D bIoc numerical modelling and boundary element codes (SUIT 3D)
- attempts of calibration of the tools used with strain and seismic data collected from the mines.
