Objective
The aim of the research is to put in practice some fine coal preparation techniques for the washing of soil soaked with hydrocarbons of any origin.
In particular , the selective agglomeration technique, by intimately contacting soils soaked with hydrocarbons and coal fines eventually coming as slimes reclaimed from lagoons, will be considered. One hopes by this means to agglomerate oil and coal fractions and thus provide a good fuel and to separate them altogether from the mineral fraction, the final waste being replaced on the initial site.
Other techniques based on froth flotation will be tested as well.
- selection of sites to be treated
- samples
- samples analysis in order to determine inclosed hydrocarbons and other pollutants
- purification trails by selective agglomeration technique
- purification trials by flotation technique
- determination of purification operation methods.
