Objective
This fundamental research programme is of paramount importance, since the vitrinite reflectance of coal is one of the major and reliable index in the hand of the cokemaker.
Automation of the vitrinite reflectance measure extended its predictive utilisation from research institutes to the coke plants.
This "physical" parameter for coals ranking, needs additional fundamental and applied research. As one of the world leaders in that field, INCAR is particularly qualified to undertake this work.
