Progress Report
Conference - iNOW: International Nano-Optoelectronics Workshop

The iNOW workshop is recognised by optoelectronic community as one of the most attractive summer schools We plan to organize it in Baikal lake region in 2018 A report detailing the practical implementation will be produced

Complementary and Transferable skills- Workshop

This milestone will report on details of the implementation of the Complementary and Transferable skills training programme described in Table 1.2 b (2), which will focus on Communication, Impact, Academic Good Practice and Collaborative Working which captures all the transferable skills.

Bespoke Workshop- Introduction to Innovative design methods

The workshop will consolidate the introduction to systematic design methods and TRIZ followed by a discussion on how these methods can be applied to the problems with a better understanding of the underlying physical background A report detailing the implementation and participation will be produced

Bespoke Workshop - Analytical methods & new nanowire device concepts

This milestone will report on the implementation of the Analytical methods & new nanowire device concepts training described in Table 1.2 b (3). The introductory training received within participating institution and that in MD3 will be consolidated, focusing on specific analytical techniques. New concepts such as quantum computing and unconventional computation based on NWs will also be covered along with industrially relevant questions covering production scaling and nanowire integration. This bespoke workshop will be organized at ULUND with the support from UCPH. A report detail the practical implementation and ESR participation will be produced.

Bespoke Workshop - Industrial Practice

This bespoke workshop will be delivered by industrial partners and selected topical specialists with knowledge and experience in research and development in hightechnology industries The organisation and implementation will be led by UDUR and academic support will be provided to optimise the educational delivery of the content by the industrial specialists The overarching workshop theme is Transferring Technology From Nanoscience into Nanotechnology Specifically there will be topics on Identifying and Protecting Intellectual Property Routes to Exploiting Intellectual Property Routes to Financial Support for Technology Development Understanding Technology Readiness Levels Identifying Markets and Competitive Technologies Translation to Production Growing the Business A written report details the practical implementation will be produced

Training ESRs- School on Theory for inventive problem solving and its application for nanoelectronics

The school will present tools for systematic design, creative engineering and heuristic methods. These methods will be expected to be used for nano-scale object design. A report detailing the implementation and participation will be produced.

The mid term review meeting may take place between month 18 - 26

Workshop - Applying innovative Design methods to nanowires

This Workshop will build upon the introductory training but emphasise on specific applications of conceptual design with a particular focus on nanowires Cases studies will illustrate and support practical sessions A report detailing the implementation and participation will be produced

Conference - Nanowire Week 2018-2020

We will coordinate and encourage ESR participation to the annual conference named “Nanowire week”, supporting them to focus their presentation onto the conference topics and format. A report detailing the implementation and participation will be produced.

Congress -2019 MRS Symposium S: Semiconductor Nanowires and Devices for Advanced Applications

We will submit the proposal to organize a symposium on nanowires and related devices in Fall MRS which takes place in Boston every year Here we will gather the latest developments in the field and the findings of the consortium will be presented to the scientific community A written report detailing the practical implementation will be produced

Introduction to nanotechnology & research methods-Workshop

This workshop is intended to deliver the foundation of nanotechnology and introduce the basic research methods and concept commonly used It will help all ESRs acquire the level of introductory knowledge required to implement their research but also to engage with the entire network and facilitate interaction within the network and with other ESRs in particular A report detailing the implementation and participation will be produced
