A portfolio of European R&D&I projects mapped in terms of scope, budget, partners, building blocks / pillar actions addressed. Report on the assessment of the portfolio of EU projects based on each Building Block and for each Pillar Action.

Regional/National/International Scoreboard

Benchmark at Regional/National and International level in order to understand the current situation of European industry, comprehend how framework conditions (incl. legislation ) can either encourage or hinder industry and to promote the results of NMBP projects / other calls EU-projects previously selected as cases of analysis.

Public and Private funding opportunities

Identify Public and private funding and financing possibilities available in Europe supporting the innovation cycle (R+D+I activities), including Important Projects of Common European Interest and the European Fund for Strategic Investments, in the manufacturing and production technologies domains.

Competitiveness of the European R&D&I in the NMBP areas with a look on advanced countries.

Plan for building an extended partnership network, supporting the long-term objectives of EU re-industrialization in a circular economy context.

Conditions under which industry and SMEs can be incentivized to invest and expand in Europe, in view of the vision for re-industrialization and in the context of circular economy

Inventory of cases/strategies for potential future large-scale industrial investments

FUTURING Operational framework

Definition of the framework on which the project will base its work. This will ensure that the analysis and strategy development work will be in line with the interests and needs of relevant stakeholders in EU industry while addressing the requirements put by the EC, as a coordination and support action.

Business and civil society consultation survey

Report on the consultation survey where input from EU stakeholders is gathered in a quantitative way. The survey will be performed with different stakeholders (SMEs, global/multinational corporations, NGOs) that can provide representative samples of circular economy practices.

Vision-Scoping activities and Priority-Setting report

Report on priority-setting based on the identification and analysis of key industrial competences determining EU’s global competitiveness, gaps in the technology offer side and technology intermediation, gaps in the current policy and regulatory framework or shortcomings of the ecosystem supporting technology upscaling and pinpointing and priority setting of niches for novel solutions understood as innovation fields of industrial interest relevant to societal challenges.

Community Building Report

Report on the activities for building an extended partnership network, supporting the long-term objectives of EU re-industrialization in a circular economy context.

Policy recommendations and Strategy to Re-industrialize Europe

The policy recommendations will be based on a set of policy intervention categories, outlined depending on the type of challenge they try to solve and a number of evidence-based narratives developed per element or building block of the vision. This will also include an action plan on SMEs.

FUTURING Baseline Vision

Definition of what is meant by Industry 2030 in the context of the reindustrialization of Europe and the circular economy.

Report on interdependencies and digitalization impact in circular economy

Provide a deep understanding of the current scheme of analysis. It will include an overview of the different Building Blocks on the situation in different countries, their relationship with the Pillar Actions and the digitalization impact.

List of Advanced Industry Enablers in the circular economy

A set of key Advanced Enablers (Technologies, Regulations, Actors, Financial Instruments…) that will make products, services, manufacturing and processing cleaner, safer, and more flexible in responding to customers' needs.
