Objective
The purpose of the project is to investigate the interrelationship of current innovations, improvement in environmental factors and reduction in the exposure to risk of workers employed in the plate finishing shop.
These persons generally work outside the control pulpits and are therefore particularly exposed to the following risks:
- accidents arising from dangerous conditions (men struck by plates, projected objects, etc);
- hearing loss;
-respiratory diseases and illnesses arising from exposure to radiant heat.
The research work comprises the following activities:
1. environmental survey and analysis of working conditions;
2. extension of the semirobotization project for plate conditioning and stamping with the introduction of new sensors for experimental use in defect detection;
3. research aimed at reducing the hazards arising from high noise levels which impede communications and impair perception of danger warnings;
4. monitoring of the accident rate throughout the entire duration of the research.
