Exploitation guide

Exploitation guide outlines how the consortium overall and how individual project partners will seek to exploit the results of the project. It will be initially drafted at the halfway point of the project and then updated at the end of the project to take full account of the changes resulting from the development and conclusion of the project.

Design study and roadmap for the OPERAS e-infrastructure

The design study will define governance models, structures, and scientific and technical concepts for future services, and establish the requirements for long term sustainability for the future e-infrastructure. It will also establish a roadmap for the development for OPERAS infrastructure.

Final business plan, governance model

"A second draft of the final governance and business plan will be presented as a white paper for validation at M16 during the validation workshop # 3."

Report of activities
Design plan for future services operated through OPERAS and roadmap for their deployment

Identify services OPERAS will have to develop and implement for the future, and establish a rough schedule. An online survey of the academic community to identify missing services on the platforms will be achieved first (M1-6), followed by a study on technical conditions to set up distributed and interoperable infrastructures (desk review and interviews) (M6-12). A focus group to validate the list and architecture of the future services will be organized (M12) and help establish a roadmap for the deployment of new services (M10-16).

Map of OPERAS technical environment

Creating a full description of technologies used by the consortium partners for OPERAS It will take the form of technical review (softwares, programming languages, metadata and data) on the framework and content structures used by OPERAS partners.

Network building report

Interface between Operas-D and the OPERAS network partners and extended stakeholders will be assured by different means such as events, common workshops to validate results (task 1.3) and an online survey. The survey will be based on findings of the landscape study and will contribute towards gaining actual information on practices that will contribute to e-infrastructure integration across Europe. Further, regular email exchanges and reports will be sent to the Operas stakeholders. This task will help strengthen collaborations and address common minimum standards and good practices with relevant initiatives beyond OPERAS and outside of Europe, as well as explore ways to embed OPERAS in the wider European e-infrastructure ecosystem. Results of this work will be D2.3 on the survey, as well as the network community building report D2.2 (M18)

Landscape study report

Desk review of academic and grey literature to identify and examine existing and emerging practices in OA SSH publishing within the OPERAS network and beyond in Europe will be carried out early in the project. The desk review will also identify the key stakeholders involved in OA publishing landscape in SSH. This research, outlining recent developments and challenges in the institutional open access publishing landscape will serve as the basis for further work in the project and the WP. it will examine the role of various actors, important initiatives taking place in Europe and beyond, and will identify potential issues to be addressed by the OPERAS network. The result of this will be a landscape study

Report of the digital visibility of OA monographs through the OPERAS network

This task addresses the challenges associated with tracking the use and impact of Open Access monographs across open global digital networks. The task is broken into three parts: - Mapping the digital visibility of OA monographs made available by the OPERAS network; - Flagging technical challenges specific to the collection of metrics on usage and impact for OA monographs; - Identifying opportunities for the more effective integration of information relating to the use of OA monographs into metrics and altmetrics ecosystems.

Report on online survey on optimizing e-infrastructure investments for OPERAS members and of creating complementarities

Results of this work will be D 2.3 on the survey.
